Santiago City tour

During this tour which will be approximately four hours, an experience guide will narrate the history of the city. Our journey starts at the Santa Lucia Hill where the city was founded by the Spanish Conqueror Pedro de Valdivia in 1.541 nearby, we can also find San Francisco church which was built between the years of 1586 and 1628.A particular trait of this church is that it has never fallen even though it has suffered several major earthquakes. We shall continue our tour by visiting the Presidential Palace “La Moneda”, the Central Market, the Pre-Colombina Museum, the central post office, the National Museum, the Municipality of Santiago “Mayor’s Office” and the Cathedral located in Plaza de Armas at the heart of the city near to the former National Congress.Our tour continues in the older parts of the city and then through the Parque Forestal to the Bellavista neighborhood.This area was a rich district where the poet Pablo Neruda lived. As we know.Mr. Neruda obtained the Noble Prize of Literature in 1971.We will then travel to the San Cristobal Hill.This high hill is located in the centre of the city and from its top we will have a panoramic view of the city, the Andes range and the coastal range. At the top of the San Cristobal, we shall also find a statue of the Virgen Mary Inmaculate which was donated by the French government.Near the statue, we also visit a small but beautiful church. The top of this hill offers a great opportunity to take pictures of our beautiful city.One will be able to appreciate the difference between the east side of Santiago where you can find the most modern buildings and the rest of the city with more traditional constructions. We will then ride the cable cars back to the bottom. At the end of this excursion, we will visit Chilean handcrafts store where we can enjoy a glass of Chilean wine and can purchase objects made out of a semi-precious blue stones called Lapislazuli.This stone only exists in Chile and Afghanistan. At the end of the tours, clients can choose their final destination Airport, hotels, Restaurants or Shopping Centers.
