Isla Negra (The house where Pablo Neruda lived)

Isla Negra is located 90 minutes away from Santiago.Here we can find one of the three major houses where Pablo Neruda lived. The house was built in 1939 with stone, wood and several elements that give it the atmosphere of a great ship. It contains various collections which will call your attention.Pablo Neruda’s remains rests in the garden of this house overlooking the sea.After visiting the house, we will go along the coast to a small village called “Pomaire”.Its origins date back to 1771 and it is known for its pottery. The tradition of producing fine pottery by hand goes back for many generations.We will also have the opportunity in Pomaire to enjoy the delicious and traditional Chilean dishes.

Vina del Mar

Vina del Mar is known as the Garden City.It is a very quiet place for older people and will charm us with its special architecture, its streets, squares and beautiful gardens locatednearthe Pacific Ocean. During summer you shall find people from different countries, especially from Argentina, enjoying its beautiful beaches. Next to the beaches you can find excellent restaurants, a casino and several night clubs. This is the city where our president usually comes during the summer holidays.

Valparaiso

This city, which origin goes back to 1536, was declared in 2003 a Cultural World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.The National Congress, Chile’s major shipping port and the naval academy can all be found in this beautiful and unique city. Turn of the 20th century elevators take you to the different hills where you can enjoy gorgeous and magical views of the city and its ocean.Among its colorful buildings, we will visit the museum La Sebastiana, the third house that Pablo Neruda owned and lived in (entrance fee is not included).The house is enclaved in one of the forty five hills that make up the city of Valparaiso
